Brooklee's Two Week Doctors Appointment

Today, we went for Brooklee's two week check-up.  Everything looked great, she got an A+ from the doctor.  She has a gained 9 ounces from her birth weight for a total of 7 pounds 10 ounces.  She has also grown a whole inch and 3/4 in lenth to 22.25inches.  She is in the 50% for the weight and 95% for length, she is a long baby.  We have noticed over the past week or so that some of her clothes with feet do not fit anymore and her sleeves are now 3/4 length sleeves.  She is still really skinny but that is because she is using all that fuel to grow in length instead of weight. Everything else checked out well and now we have to prepare for her 2 month appt.  This is the one were she gets her shots, so Mom is a little nervous about that.  We are so proud of our growing girl!

BROOKLEE'S PHOTO SHOOT

Here are a few more preview pics from Brooklee's photo shoot.  Katie, our photographer, is so talented.  She has done an excellent job so far and we cannot wait to see the rest of them.  We have the most beautiful baby ever but maybe we are a little bias:)

Yesterday Brooklee had her newborn pictures taken.  Here are some few proofs from the shoot. She was such a great baby during the entire thing.  She must have known when the shoot was about over because that is when she got hungry and a little fussy.  Hopefully we will have more pictures soon.  I cannot wait to see the rest of them.

Today was a day of many firsts; Brooklee slept so much better and was only awake for feedings which was nice for me and Britt.  We were finally able to get some much needed rest.  She also got ready for her very first SOUTHERN MISS game with daddy. So we decked her out in all her  Southern Miss attire in preparation for the big game against Virginia.

Daddy was a little too excited about dressing her for the game so she was in her outfit since 11am for a 230pm game.  He also added the pink bow to let everyone know that his "little girl" is a true Southern Fan.

She was pretty worn out by halftime so she took a little nap in her swing for the first time to see how she would do.  She slept for about an hour and a half after one short fuss but overall seemed to enjoy it.  I have a feeling we will try this more often if she enjoys it this much.

Brooklee and daddy celebrating the come from behind win for Southern Miss.  Daddy is calling her his good luck charm because Southern started playing a lot better once she was out of the swing.  I have a feeling she will wear this outfit everytime they are playing :)

Hopefully tomorrow will be full of more firsts and a lot more photo opps.  We are actually having her newborn pictures made around two. So pray that she will cooperate and be a sweet baby like she has been the whole time she has been here.

I have been meaning to start this blog for sometime now but felt like it would be to overwhelming with having a newborn and trying to figure out how to put the blog together. My wonderful husband figured it out for me and just let me decide on colors and where I wanted to put things. So now I am trying to figure it all out and write a little about what's been going on. Brooklee was born on Sunday, Sept 13, 2009 after going in to the hospital thinking that I was in false labor. I don't guess that it was false at all. She weighed 7lbs 1oz and was 20.5 in long. She was 6lbs 10oz when we left the hospital. We have been home for 3 days now and we are still trying to adjust to our new normal. She is a really great baby and does really well esp. during the day. She wakes up at night and wants to feed a good bit but even that seems to be getting better already. Maybe that is just because I am getting used to it. Who knows. She's actually a very awake and alert little girl. She loves just looking around after a feeding. We had our 2 day checkup yesterday and everything went great. Brooklee has already gained an ounce and is up to 6lbs 11ozs. Her jaundice level was great and they said that everything else looked perfect. Well she's waking up now so I'm going to go tend to her but I will try to blog frequently to give updates on out sweet little girl.
